First, fill out the FOTA update request form to ensure one of our Siyata Support team members loads your device/devices into our FOTA server. If you device shows 'No Firmware Available', it has not been loaded yet.
Step 1 - Ensure the SD7 device is charged and has at least 30% charge on the battery. It will not process the FOTA update if battery is less than 30%.
Step 2 - Ensure you are in a strong 4G/LTE signal area (4 bars on the top screen) or the download could take a long time. If a strong 4G/LTE signal is not available, we do recommend connecting your device to WiFi.
Step 3 - From the Device, click down on the Rotary Dial to enter the Menu (Siyata SD7 screen).
Step 4 - Using the Rotary dial, Scroll to System, click down on Rotary dial, Scroll to FOTA Update and click down on Rotary dial.
Step 5 - The device screen will say 'Checking New Version'. It should find a new version is available and on the screen say 'New Firmware:xxxx5SU Click Download'
Step 6 - Click down on the Rotary Dial to start the Download. You will get a 'Download %' displayed.
Step 7 - When the download finishes (100%), you will get a message that says 'Click to Upgrade'. Click down 1 time on the Rotary Dial and wait. There is a slight delay for the Upgrade to start - do not click down more than 1 time.
Step 8 - The screen will now say 'Please wait...upgrading XX%'
Step 9 - When the Upgrade reaches 100%, the Screen will say 'To take effect, Click to Reboot'. Click down on the Rotary Dial.
Step 10 - The device screen will turn off, device will vibrate, and it will reboot on its own. The device may reboot 2 times to process the update. Be patient.
Step 11 - Once device is back online, click on the Menu and scroll to About click down, scroll to Version and it should now read 'xxxxx5SU' - if it does not, you may need to repeat steps 3 to 9 as that device may need 2 upgrades.
Step 12 - Once device is confirmed to be on the latest firmware version, please fill out the Change PTT Application Request form and specify what PTT application is needed on the device.
